US & China Agree to Cut Greenhouse Gas Emissions

pledged to reduce their respective countries’ greenhouse gas emissions over the next two decades during a meeting hosted on 17 November in Beijing, China. Per the terms of the agreement, the United States would reduce its 2005 level of carbon emissions by 26-28 percent before the year 2025. China would peak its carbon emissions by 2030 and would increase its nonfossil fuel share of energy to about 20 percent by the same year, reports The Environmental Leader.
